A Season With
The Lamerton Foxhounds
The country hunted by The Lamerton Foxhounds lies on the Devon-Cornwall boarder and extends some 400 square miles, including the towns of Launceston, Okehampton, Princetown and Tavistock.
The Hunt's history goes back to the early 19th Century when it was hunted by that famous Master of Foxhounds and terrier breeder - The Reverend 'Jack' Russell.
The country which had been hunted by numerous private packs was united by William and Tom Leamon in 1859 and was called The Lamerton, its name taken from the village which lies at the centre of the country.
This video is of the season 2003/2004 recording the last season of Huntsman Tony Boon after 23 seasons, having spent a total of 32 seasons with packs in the West Country.
